Enhancing our English Benefits for Au Pairs & Host Families
At Agent Au Pair, we’re always looking for ways to improve our program and create the best possible experience for both au pairs and host families. Communication plays a key role in a successful match, which is why we’re excited to introduce two new benefits designed to support language development for au pairs.
As part of the application process, au pairs will now have to take the iTEP English Test. This assessment helps build confidence in their English skills while giving host families additional reassurance about their au pair’s language proficiency. Unlike subjective self-assessments, iTEP provides a universal way of measuring English ability, allowing families to compare different au pairs on an objective scale.
In addition, after matching with a host family, au pairs will receive one month of access to the FLOW Speak app—a fantastic tool for practicing conversational English. Both iTEP and FLOW are specifically tailored for au pairs, focusing on vocabulary and real-life scenarios that will be most useful in their role. This extra support helps au pairs feel even more comfortable speaking English before they arrive, making for a smoother transition into their new home.
