Required Pre-Departure Training
Au Pairs must complete their pre-departure training course in their home country before arrival in the USA. This course is required. This is also a prerequisite to Au Pair School and must be completed by all au pairs.
Au Pair Pre-Departure Training
32 hours
This required course is an introduction to child development from birth to age 5, child development ages 6 to 17, behavior & discipline in the US, safety and supervision and cultural exchange in the USA.
Elective Training
These courses are electives and can be selected by the Au Pair and the Host based on their specific training needs. Au pairs can begin these courses in their home country before arrival in the USA and may continue to take these courses during their first 30 days in the home.
Infancy & The First 2 Years
4 hours
Au Pairs who will take care of children under the age of 2 should take this course.
