Host Family and Au Pair of the Year
We’re thrilled to announce the winners of our Host Family and Au Pair of the Year contest! This year, we introduced a new twist by asking au pairs and host families to submit their entries together, highlighting the incredible partnerships that make their placements so successful. We believe that the magic of the au pair experience lies in the teamwork, mutual respect, and shared growth between host families and their au pairs—and this contest truly brought that to life. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share your stories. We were inspired by each and every entry, and we’re so proud to celebrate the amazing connections that define our community.
The Dooley Family and Luz Del Alba from Dominican Republic
🥇 Winner
“When Lou was first arrived, we knew she was a part of the family from the moment she stepped through the door, the kids jumped on her, the dogs played with her,and she was reading bedtime stories on her first night.
Luz’s name means light and she is just a shining light and we are so lucky for her to be a part of our family.”

“My favorite part is to be loved by the kids. Like, they get too attached to me and then I feel like I’m gonna miss them a lot. We absolutely love spending time together. We hope to have even more fun living this experience together as an au pair and host family!“

The Houser Family and Sara from Colombia
Runner Up
“Becoming parents has truly been the most beautiful and meaningful chapter of our lives. One of the best decisions we’ve made during this time has been becoming part of the au pair program. It’s more than just help with daily life—it’s about connection, trust, and growing together. Our experience with our au pair has been incredibly positive. “

“One of the things I appreciate the most is how much we’ve learned from each other. I’ve been able to share my culture and traditions with them, and at the same time, I’ve learned so much about their culture and lifestyle. The conversations we’ve had, the meals we’ve shared, and the laughs we’ve exchanged have been priceless. It’s been such a fulfilling and enriching experience.”
