🥉The Enright Family
It is difficult to start writing about a family that in less than a year became your second family. With Jamie and Adam we felt the perfect connection from the moment we had our first conversation… it was impossible to stop talking since we learned about our existence!
I remember the first weeks we talked about my younger host kid being born. They were complicated weeks because a new member came into this world and the family had to adjust to a new routine. My youngest host kid was 2 years old at that time. A very shy girl but with one of the most beautiful hearts that exists. Her innocence and shyness won my heart. After many days out of contact since they were very busy, we found an opportunity to make our first video call in October… I was SO nervous. I can’t put into words what I felt at that moment, only nerves and my sweaty hands… until the day came.
I don’t have much to add from that day only that it was special. I remember that I didn’t ask many questions because I was very nervous. I only met the girls and Adam. I talked to Jamie a little more. I remember telling them that I was looking for a 2nd family, which is possibly complicated because there is nothing like home and my own family… but I was looking for something similar or just to be who I am here and enjoy my experience with an American family. After having talked about everything except the program itself, I knew it that they were my family. After lowering the adrenaline a little that day, I sent them a message saying I loved talking to them and that I would love to be able to have a second video call without knowing if they had liked to talk to me.. But something told me that we were going to make a match, until they answered me and said that they would like to have another video call.
 That’s when I knew that this was getting serious and I had to put all my good energy into doing this long-awaited match. Because there is a part that few know. I was online for a long time because no family managed to convince me at all or I just didn’t feel that hunch that I was looking for and that I finally felt with the Enrights, after a few days we talked again.
October 7 was my sister’s birthday, so the Enrights met my whole family that day. It was love at first sight with everyone. It was no small thing to introduce your loved ones to those who will possibly be your host in a few weeks, with whom I would share one of the experiences of my life. Not long after on October 11, we had the videocall that would change my life completely. That same day, we said the famous yes concretizing the match! It was one of the most important dates of my life.
The day arrived that I had to travel, but before that, Jamie and Adam had such a gentle and human gesture – they asked me if I wanted to spend Christmas and New Year with my family or with them, and that the decision I made for them was going to be fine. They were going to wait for me with open arms. I decided to spend my last holidays with my family.
I arrived on January 4, there they were waiting for me with a sign “Welcome Mica” Jamie managed to recognize me, she scream my name and we ran to merge into a beautiful hug, ugh everything I felt at that moment was inexplicable.
After that night I really felt that my life began to change. The whole family welcomed me with open arms. I felt comfortable from the first minute that I arrived and I can’t be more grateful for that. Our adventure began to be written from the day we met, and everything was nice since then. The Enright family changed my life completely. Elsie and Miki changed my life completely. They are two people who came into my life not by chance but by accident, in fact, I carry them in my skin because they are 2 of the most special people that exist in my life. Here we are a year later. We are very happy being a wonderful team discovering and adventuring this unique experience together. We are an Argentine American family, full of beautiful moments. I have no more than a giant thank you for letting me share a little bit of life together.
