Valentine’s Day Lunch in San Jose
LC: Lluvia from California
We went to Santa Row in San Jose, CA. We had lunch at one of the restaurants there who was having a special event for Valentine’s day. The au pairs really enjoyed the event – there was music from a local band and the pastry chef was making special treats! We got the chance to see it. We welcome our new au pairs and had a great talk, after that we took a tour around for their 20th anniversary, they explained us a little bit of the history of Santa Row and it was fun to see all the activities around there.
Caroline, one of the au pairs in our cluster, said: “I love our monthly meeting! This event allowed me to ask questions more easily because I had my LC in front of me. But also because we got out of the usual context. Being in a neutral place, with the possibility to talk in a free way and in front of a real person seems to me more adapted in this human experience of au pair. I was able to exchange in a spontaneous way, to have clear answers and also to have the advice of the other au pairs, which seems to me essential. And also we got to meet each other more and build a friendship.”
