Au Pair Volunteering Opportunity

The U.S. State Department has invited our au pairs to volunteer at the NYC Marathon, to be held this year on Sunday, November 6, 2022.

This is a unique opportunity to experience the American value of volunteerism with the added thrill of watching and cheering for runners from many countries! The State Department highly encourages J-1 au pairs to volunteer and Agent Au Pair is inviting you to get involved!

Volunteering Information

Au Pairs will volunteer at fluid stations handing out drinks and water along the marathon route with hundreds of fellow exchange visitors and State Department colleagues. Registration for BridgeUSA volunteers will remain open until September 30.

  • Please note that volunteers must commit to the entire shift. All volunteers will receive a rain poncho to protect their clothing and an additional surprise gift. No advance training is required to volunteer at fluid stations. Please speak with your Hosts this week about your work schedule and to request the day off on November 6th if you will join us. Agent Au Pair will be Volunteering at the Mile 23 Shift 2 Volunteer US State Department/Bridge USA between 1pm – 6.30pm.
 

Registration is required and spots are filled on a first come, first served basis.

  • Please note that later shifts in Manhattan tend to fill before the registration close date (September 30th) so, sign up soon. If you are visiting from out-of-town, be sure to request vacation days from your host before you register and arrange your accommodation . Registration will continue until September 30th.
