Volunteering at the NYC Marathon

The Department of States has been coordinating many different volunteer events for J-1 Visa holders and NYC Marathon was one of them. Our au pair Camila and I were lucky enough to be volunteering at the Marathon at the fluid station to help and to cheer for the runners! It was quite an experience for both of us!

Featured Local CoordinatorEmily Back from Buffalo, NY
Being a Local Coordinator has allowed me to meet and get to know so many wonderful au pairs and host families and learn so much from them. I applied for the LC position because I struggled during my year as an Au Pair and would have loved to have a support system to help me for that time. I wanted to be that person to help everyone have a great experience for their time in the program (and hopefully even after!).
